WHO Confirms Vaccines Do Not Cause Autism, Based on Global Evidence Review – Latest Health News Today. This is again validated by the latest report by the world health organization (WHO) which stated that vaccines do not cause autism spectrum disorders (ASD). It is determined with regards to a thorough survey presented by a global expert panel, Global Advisory Committee on Vaccine Safety (GACVS), a group of international professionals that provides WHO an independent scientific advice on matters related to vaccine safety on a global scale.
The most recent scientific evidence was reviewed in the meeting of the committee on 27 November 2025. Researchers have examined decades of studies and failed to find any causal relationship between childhood vaccinations and autism to prove the old-known position of WHO with regard to the safety of vaccines.

WHO Confirms Vaccines Do Not Cause Autism, Based on Global Evidence Review – What Did the WHO Committee Review?
It was a review of 31 high-quality primary research studies that were published from January 2010 to August 2025. These studies involved research on a number of nations and large groups of people. The committee was interested in two aspects:
- Association between thiomersal in vaccines and autism.
- The correlation of vaccines in general with autism spectrum disorders.
The evidence in both instances was that the vaccines are safe to use in childhood and pregnancy, there is no evidence that risk of autism is high.
Aluminum in Vaccines Also Found Safe
The concerns that were also evaluated by the committee were associated with aluminum adjuvants that are contained in certain vaccines to enhance immune response. Research papers published within the years 1999 to March 2023 such as a large national cohort study carried out in Denmark among children born between 1997 and 2018 were analyzed.
The results revealed that there was no correlation between the trace levels of aluminum contained in vaccines and autism. WHO representatives came to the conclusion that vaccines composed of aluminum adjuvants are not harmful and can be used by the population.
WHO Reaffirms Earlier Conclusions
After completing this thorough review GACVS restated its previous assessment in 2002, 2004 and 2012:
Thiomersal and/or aluminum containing vaccines do not cause autism.
WHO has encouraged governments of countries to ground their policies on vaccines on solid scientific foundations and to overcome false information that can undermine people in immunization efforts.
Why Vaccines Matter
Childhood immunization on the global scale can be regarded as one of the most significant positive accomplishments in terms of the field of health care. Estimates of WHO show that vaccines have saved at least 154 million lives in the last 50 years, both by protecting children against potentially deadly infectious diseases and by increasing the overall lifespan expectancy.
